According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is closing in on a lucrative deal to join newly crowned Saudi champions Al Ittihad.
It is understood that the Paris native and the Blues had been in talks over a potential extension, but now news has emerged suggesting that the defensive midfielder is bound for Jeddah to sign a mammoth €200 million (R4.2 billion), two-year deal.
Should he make the move, the 32-year-old would join up with his former international teammate Karim Benzema, who was unveiled earlier this week as Al Ittihad's newest signing, in the Middle East.
Kante's 2022/23 campaign was blighted by injuries, having played a mere nine games all season for the west Londoners, and while he seemingly prepares for his departure from Stamford Bridge, the France international's profile within the club will likely remain strong.
The energetic midfielder helped Chelsea secure a sixth Premier League title and earned himself a Man of the Match award for his performance in the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City in 2021.

He also helped the English giants to FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup glory, but with Al Ittihad executives believed to have arrived in London to present to Kante his new contract, it appears the 53-time Les Bleus star will be calling time on his career in England.
