With the uncertainty currently surrounding Manchester City, reports claim that Pep Guardiola could ditch the Citizens for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Premier League champions are in the midst of being investigated by an independent commission after the Premier League charged the club with more than 100 breaches of financial regulations.

Their Spanish manager is on record as saying in the past that should the Citizens ever be found guilty of any irregularities pertaining to their finances, he would leave the club immediately.

While reports have suggested that it may take up to four years for the Mancunians to receive a verdict, it seems PSG are keen to pounce on any possible strain in the relationship between the 52-year-old and the eight-time English champions.

According to Fichajes, Les Parisiens are becoming disgruntled with the club's performances so far in 2023 and should they continue, current boss Christophe Galtier may be shown the door at the Parc des Princes, and will look to replace him with Guardiola if possible.

Les Parisiens have already lost three matches in the new year, the latest of which was at the hands of bitter Le Classique rivals Olympique Marseille in the Coupe de France on Wednesday.

The PSG board hired the Frenchman on new sporting director Luis Campos' recommendation, but are believed to have quickly become disillusioned with the former Nice manager.

Zinedine Zidane has also been heavily linked with the PSG managerial hot seat, but Galtier will reportedly have the opportunity to redeem himself in the UEFA Champions League, a competition the club's hierarchy feel they can win, when the record Ligue 1 champions take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of their round of 16 tie next week.
