Nottingham Forest 0-1 Manchester United

Manchester United went through to the quarter-finals after a last-minute 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at City Ground.

Man United were without the injured Rasmus Hojlund, as Marcus Rashford led the attack, with Bruno Fernandes just behind him, along wide forwards Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.

United had a quick start as just four minutes in Antony was denied the opener by the crossbar.

That set the tone for the rest of the first stanza, with a flurry of chances on either end and the half-time goalless score did not reflect the complexion of the game.Forest had a strong start in the second stanza but they were denied the opening goal twice in the first ten minutes from the interval by goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Erik ten Hag's charges threw everything at Forest in the closing stages and Casemiro eventually broke the deadlock in the last minute with a flick at the near post after a well drilled free-kick by Fernandes.

Liverpool  3-0 Southampton

Liverpool booked their spot in the quarter-finals after thrashing Southampton 3-0 at Anfield.

The Reds brought in six new faces Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah, Konstantinos Tsimikas, debutant Bobby Clark, James McConnell and Lewis Koumas following their EFL Cup win over Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp's charges almost started on the wrong footing after Southampton had a goal disallowed for offside in the first minute and four minutes later Kamaldeen Sulemana was denied by the post.

Liverpool survived more attacks from the Saints before Clark broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time with a deflected shot.

Southampton were still a threat coming from the break but the Reds punished them for their mistakes as Jayden Danns doubled their lead with 17 minutes remaining.

Danns ended the game as a contest in the dying minutes with a third goal for the Reds and his second with a lofted finish.

Chelsea 3-2 Leeds United

Chelsea booked their spot in the quarter-finals after edging Leeds United in a five-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues made five changes to the EFL Cup final defeat to Liverpool as goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Trevor Chalobah, Alfie Gilchrist were all brought in.

Chelsea started on the back foot after Leeds went ahead within the first eight minutes thanks to a finish by Mateo Joseph after a mistake at the back.

However, Nicolas Jackson levelled matters for the hosts on 15 minutes after a through ball by Moises Caicedo.

Mudryk gave Chelsea the lead eight minutes before the interval after he was teed up by Raheem Sterling.

Joseph eventually gave the the Whites the lead hour-mark with a close-range header.

Conor Gallagher snatched the winner for Mauricio Pochettino's charges in the last minute with a strike from a scramble in the box.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Brighton and Hove Albion

Wolverhampton Wanderers are through to the quarter-finals after edging Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 Molineux Stadium.

Mario Lemina gave Wolves the lead within the first two minutes with a shot from a rebound in the box.

Although Brighton had chances throughout the first stanza, the second stanza was rather quiet, with opportunities few and far between, which suited Wolves as they held on to a narrow win.

Quarter-Final Draw:

Manchester United v Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Coventry City

Chelsea v Leicester City

Manchester City v Newcastle United
