Manchester United booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic on Monday night.

Rasmus Hojlund was back in the the Red Devils line-up as Antony dropped to the bench as while Christian Eriksen also came out as Erik ten Hag recalled Scott McTominay in midfield.

The home side nearly took a shock lead after three minutes when  Martial Godo broke free down the right and picked out Thelo Aasgaard, who saw his first-time strike kept out by goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Red Devils eventually got the breakthrough in the 22th minute when Rashford teed up Diogo Dalot, who took one touch before curling one into the far corner from the edge of the box.

United went close to doubling the lead advantage seven minutes later when Bruno Fernandes picked out Hojlund, whose powerful header from six yards out crashed against the crossbar.

The Red Devils ended the half with  ust one goal to their name due to their poor finishing and decision-making in  the final third, while Alejandro Garnacho hit the crossbar in the final five minutes.

Ten Hag's men continued to dominate in the second half but were struggling to find a second goal, with the likes Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay being denied in the opening ten minutes.

United were afforded the chance to add a second goal on 74 minute after Liam Shaw's foul on Fernandes, who stepped up and calmly dispatched the penalty to double the lead.

Ten Hag's side were able to see out the final stages with relative ease, as Facundo Pellestri and Willy Kambwala were also introduced in place of Garnarcho and Dalot to see out the win.
