The 29-year-old playmaker spoke to DAZN Portugal recently, and during that interview, the Red Devils star seemingly hinted that a move away from Old Trafford could be on the cards, claiming that any decision would come after the Selecao's UEFA European Championship campaign at the end of the season.

This set the rumour mill in full swing as speculation over the 64-cap Portugal international's future intensifies.

United manager Ten Hag is, however, not fazed by the conjecture involving his star player.

When quizzed over the Maia native’s future, the Dutchman said, as per Goal: "I know he is very happy to be here... Taking responsibility is one of the biggest assets top footballers have to show and deliver. Bruno is always available, he never misses a game and always plays in a good level, and always gets energy to a team.

"Such assets are necessary to be successful. Bruno is a real fighter. Last year for instance, when we played Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final, he played with an ankle that was so thick, it was unbelievable.

"Bruno is a very good example for other players."

While Ten Hag has insisted his goalscoring midfielder will likely still be at the club next season, the 54-year-old did call for the club to add more reinforcements during the off-season.

"That is one of the issues in our constructing the squad. We have to improve to do things better to construct a squad with more depth," the former Ajax Amsterdam manager added.
