The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) have officially released a statement following reports of a bust up between their president Samuel Eto’o and national team coach Rigobert Song.
The Indomitable Lions have made various headlines at the Africa Cup of Nations, although a large part of this has revolved around their controversial goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The 1-1 draw against Guinea in their opening game of the tournament also left a lot to be desired and they will now face defending champions Senegal on Friday evening with the hope of keeping their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages alive.
Earlier this week, it believed that reports started swirling in Cameroon, claiming that there was growing tension between the administration and technical team staff - with Eto’o and Song reportedly at loggerheads.
In a statement, FECAFOOT secretary general Blaise Djounang denounced reports that there’s conflict between Eto’o and Song and that no former football stars were expunged from Cameroonian delegation as suggested by reports on social media.

“This crudely crafted fake news have the potential to destabilize the national team, its technical staff and its administrative support staff,” Djounang said, according to Graphic Online.
“Given the risk of misinformation, FECAFOOT urges Indomitable Lions’ fans to be more vigilant about misleading content and to seek information from the right sources. It calls on users of social networks to contribute through their goodwill and sense of restraint to preserving the serenity of our compatriots,” he added.
Meanwhile, Senegal legend El Hadji Diouf took a swipe at Cameroon ahead of the two sides’ meeting, suggesting that the Indomitable Lions were fallen giants.
“Cameroon has regressed a lot and I'm in pain for Cameroonian supporters,” he said, according to Camfoot.
“They rely on their past and it's sad[...] Today Cameroon's real problem is not on the ground, it's a management problem..."
