Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the contract of Bafana Bafana star Aubrey Modiba, according to the player's agent.

The former SuperSport United baller who can play both at left-back and in midfield has received interest from clubs abroad, so Downs decided to act quicklu.

The Brazilians are said to have offered Modiba a two-year extension to his current deal which expires in June 2025, rewarding him for his performance this season and at AFCON.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Agent: Sundowns Extend Bafana Star's Contract After Foreign Interest" story:

"When did Modiba sign a new contract, while he is focusing on Bafana Bafana?" asks Phumzamthembu3.

"That's Chloorkop prison, we know it like that. Once you are in, it's the end of your career's journey," says TT Wa Lekhosi.

"Big teams keep their best players. That's why they are successful," replies Saavedra.

"And those players at Chiefs, who aren't in prison, can't even make it to the Bafana Bafana squad. Even a bench warmer at Sundowns is making waves at AFCON (Maseko & Morena), while those those playing regularly at Chiefs, can't even make it. All they know is boozing," replies makausemakause53.

"Congratulations to the football club and the yellow nation. Congratulations to the Motsepe family," says Saavedra.

Nigeria's head coach Jose Peseiro shared his thoughts on his team's penalty shootout win over South Africa in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles advanced to the final of the tournament, where they'll face hosts Ivory Coast, after beating Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties in Bouake.

Peseiro hailed Bafana as the most organised team in the tournament, but felt that his players deserved to win as they were better in the penalty shootout.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Nigeria Boss After Semi-Final Win - 'Bafana Are Organised, But...'" story:

"It's like the Nigerian coach was only depending on penalties," says nkosinathimsizazwe3.

"That chance which fell to Mudau in the last minute was our passage to the final. A box player, a good finisher and a good header of the ball would have won us the game. Even the 1st half, we had three chances we created, we could have done better," says Soccer Fanatic.

"It's so unfortunate that you disguise your hate for players from other teams by making a shallow analysis. If you were a football fan (not just a team's fan) you would have seen that scoring goals is now the whole team's responsiblity, as is defending. Nigeria is in the final with their top striker having scored only one goal. France won the world cup with their number one striker not having scored a goal. The list is endless of course," replies msanisto.

"Ngezana is doing well and his value has increased to R1,4 billion and age is on his side. Him or Xulu???? Come on coach. Now that we have lost we are at liberty to analyse everything. We did not want to destabilize the team our great players who did tremendously well.
